1. Discussion on Raffle -Fund raising.
The motion to hold a Raffle as Fund Raising for this yer was approved by the body.
The raffle ticket s will be distributed to members in booklet of 10 x 200 booklets = 20,000.00
Raffle Prizes will be as follows:

1st Prize $5,000.00
2nd Prize 2,000.00
3rd Prize 1,000.00
Consolation Prizes of 10 x 100 =1,000
Consolation Prizes of 20 x 50 =1,000
Proceeds from raffles will be used for Scholarship Program and other civic organization activities.

2. After Tax Season Activities
It was agreed that we will have a gen. membership meeting and special gathering on April 28, 2012 at Pabz Valdoz residence in San Jose.
This will be potluck picnic style and committee on meeting will coordinate on what food to bring. We will have karaoke
dancing and other fun activities.

3. Update of Website
Pepe San Gabriel will give update on website. We need to post calendar of activities of PICPA for 2012 on web.

4. Boston Convention.
Lily Tarachand and Wendy Andong willl coordinate and report on next meeting on the plan for Paligsahan
Presentation. The Convention will be held in September Labor Day weekend.

5. Pistahan Participation
This will be held on August 25, 2012. Selenna Franco-Cefre will develop the concept for PICPA participation in
the parade and Parol Contest.

Other Matters:
Al Maglan will check with Dept of Consumer Affairs whether PICPA-USA is still authorized to conduct continuing education credit.

MEETING HELD at the  RESIDENCE OF PRESIDENT CHRIS NERI

JANUARY 22, 2012

The meeting was called to order by Pres Neri at 2;15 P. M.

In attendance are:

President Neri  presented a  well organized  chart  of the various committees that  he would like the organization to mobilize to carry out his various projects during his administrative year. After much

Discussion and the functions of those committees, the  chairperson and members of the committees were named through the suggestion and concurrence of the members present in accordance with known strength in the various fields of those named person, subject to the acceptance of those named who are  not in attendance. The chart will be presented to  the body by the President in a separate cover.

One of the pet projects  the President would like to undertake is a fundraising event  i.e. “Raffle of Tickets with a car as the first prize and other prizes of lesser value..” He would like to start this immediately but no later than the first week of March, 2012. His idea is top print 5,000 tickets of $10.00 each booked into 10  tickets per booklet  9 of which is for sale and the 10^th ticket is free to the seller of the booklet. Hence if all tickets were sold PICPA ill gross $45,000 (500 booklets x $90.00). Aside from the free 10^th ticket per booklet, the top seller will win a trip to the Philippines. The drawing will be held during the Christmas Party/Induction of officers for 2013.

Depending on the progress of the sales of the raffle tickets,  Pres Neri  will recommend to the Board to approve the PICPA USA San Francisco to subsidized up to 50% of the plane and hotel accommodation of members who will be attending the NCPACA convention in Boston Massachussetts in September 2012. This is a very bold project  that Pres Chris  would like to achieve,  which is doable,  but needs the full cooperation of the membership.

Former president  and present board member Cris Gonzales  has  suggested that  membership dues  must be collected as soon as possible, most specially from the officers and directors.

IVP (Internal Vice President) Lili Tarachand has suggested to  improve the channel communication  amongst the officers and directors to create a separate picpausa officers@yahoogroups.com email address. This was supported by  members in attendance.  The present picpausa@yahoogroups.com  for the general membership will remain as it is. Lili volunterred to create the new email address.

EXVP (Excutive Vice President)  Lederle Guinid  has expressed the Philippine Consulate General of San Francisco’s gratitude to our PICPA USA group consisting of Selenna Cefre, Essie Claveria, Arnold Bermudez and Chris Neri, for doing a great job as tabulators in the just concluded Kulenarya Contest held last January 15, 2012 in San Francisco.  Lederle also mentioned that  our former president Rosario “Chato”  Angeles has established a great rapport for  PICPA USA San Francisco with the Philippine Consulate General of San Francisco dating back a few years when the Consul General is Rowena _____, a classmate of her in college in the Philippines.

Linda Tenefrancia, a well educated and very experienced accountant, was inducted to the membership by former president of PICPA USA San Francisco and former president of NCPACA (National Council of Philippine American and Canadian Accountants), Al Maglan.

The meeting  was adjourned at 4:15 p.m.

OFF THE CUP:

Million thanks to Pres Crhis and first lady, Francia Neri for hosting the meeting and for preparing a very delicious luncheon.  Everyone opined that the following meetings be held there again but on a potluck style, as the house of the Neris are very is big and conducive to having a well organized meeting.  Everyone agreed that those who will not bring anything will be charged $15.00. Remains to be seen  and watch out for the further announcements on the venue of succeeding meetings.

Karaoke singing ensued with who elected to stay another hour more. Anyway, very good beginning  El Senior Presidente.

(PICPA-USA) will be holding its Holiday Party on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Hana Zen Restaurant at Pier 39 in San Francisco at 6:00 PM.

The organization promises a night of great food and entertainment. Guests will be dancing to live music by Same Ol’ Band, a popular live act in the San Francisco bay area.  The program will also showcase Ms. Maritess Lopez Dale, a soprano, with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Voice under the tutelage of the late Filipino National Artist, Jovita Fuentes and Mr. Kyle Andrada, a tenor and consistent awardee for excellence in vocal performance from Musica Mundana Studio.  There will be raffle prizes and more surprise numbers in store for the guests.

So, join us for a night of fun and networking. Let us dance the night away!

Tickets to the event are at $50 for adults and $25 for kids under 13. Attire: semi-formal. If you want to join the exchange gift, please bring a gift worth $20.
