(PICPA-USA) will be holding its Holiday Party on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Hana Zen Restaurant at Pier 39 in San Francisco at 6:00 PM.

 

The organization promises a night of great food and entertainment. Guests will be dancing to live music by Same Ol’ Band, a popular live act in the San Francisco bay area.  The program will also showcase Ms. Maritess Lopez Dale, a soprano, with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Voice under the tutelage of the late Filipino National Artist, Jovita Fuentes and Mr. Kyle Andrada, a tenor and consistent awardee for excellence in vocal performance from Musica Mundana Studio.  There will be raffle prizes and more surprise numbers in store for the guests.

 

So, join us for a night of fun and networking. Let us dance the night away!

 

Tickets to the event are at $50 for adults and $25 for kids under 13. Attire: semi-formal. If you want to join the exchange gift, please bring a gift worth $20.

Please join us for a day of learning and fun.  The event, entitled “What’s Your Next Move?” will provide insight as to various options and next steps for job seekers, consultants and retirees in the accounting industry.  Topics will cover : Accounting Technology, Navigating Today’s Job Market and Retirement options. Guest speakers include Lili Tarachand and her team from LTD Global, LLC , Morez Gutierrez, Branch Manager at AppleOne and Lederle Guinid , Philippine Consulate of San Francisco.

The convention will also have breakout sessions that will allow attendees to ask more specific questions on the above topics i.e. how to improve your resume, QuickBooks questions, etc..  After lunch, the annual elections will also be held.

Special guest speaker is Dado Banatao. Dado is a well-known Filipino entrepreneur and engineer working in the high-tech industry. He is a major player in the Silicon Valley and a three-time start-up veteran. He is currently the managing partner of Tallwood Venture Capital. Dado serves as Chairman of the College of Engineering Advisory Board and is a member of the UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Executive Advisory Council. Dado is passionate about giving back to the Philippines. Together with his wife, Maria they funded a fellowship grant for computer science and engineering faculty from the University of the Philippines to collaborate on research programs with counterpart professors at UC Berkeley on the Berkeley Campus. Through the Asian Pacific Fund, they have provided scholarships to assist California high school students of Filipino heritage in pursuing a college education in science and engineering, a field which Filipinos are currently under-represented. Dado is also Chairman of PhilDev, a public charity group that bridges US-based Filipino individuals and communities, and Philippine-based social development institutions.
